This resource explains the approach taken for the compilation of recommended publications by NCJSR. he NCJSR Library services searched several major research databases with a wide range of different search strategies for information on programs and services for children with substance-abusing parents (COSAPs). Several major research databases were searched using a wide range of different search strategies. From the search results, 200 abstracts were selected which are for the most part from the last five years, divided by type of publications (journal articles, reports, newspaper articles, etc.). The bulk of the articles are academic journal articles. The list of recommended articles begins with the website for Ohio START (Sobriety, Treatment, and Reducing Trauma), an intensive trauma counseling program for children of substance-abusing parents, funded by a $3.5 million VOCA grant. Abstracts for these 29 recommended publications are in the full bibliography and in a separate attached file (Recommended Publications COSAPs).
