The Childtrauma Academy (CTA): A Learning Community is a Community of Practice working to improve the lives of high-risk children through education, research and the dissemination of innovation. A major activity of the CTA is to translate emerging findings about the human brain and child development into practical implications to help improve the lives of traumatized and maltreated children — by improving the systems that educate, nurture, protect and enrich these children. CTA places emphasis on education, program consultation, research and disseminating innovations in the field. CTA offers a library of articles and interventions to support their mission including The Role of Healthy Relational Interactions in Buffering the Impact of Childhood Trauma, The Neurosequential Model (NMT) in Maltreated Children, Solitary Confinement and Teens Shouldn't Mix and other articles supported by research in the field of NMT in traumatized children.
