NEW! Illuminate Colorado: Circle of Parents®

Parents with a strong network of emotionally supportive family, friends and neighbors find it easier to care for their children and themselves. Illuminate Colorado is a statewide organization working to strengthen families, organizations, and communities to prevent child maltreatment. With a research-based approach Illuminate Colorado works to build Protective Factors in families. Protective Factors include social connection, parental resilience, concrete support in times of need, knowledge of parenting and child development, and social and emotional competence of children. Illuminate Colorado is focused on growing Circle of Parents® in Colorado, a parenting support group to help promote resilience in children by increasing these factors in their lives Groups are led by a trained group facilitator and a parent leader and typically meet once a week. These groups are adjusted for parents impacted by substance misuse or substance use disorders. Illuminate Colorado has expanded these groups in several counties in Colorado to meet the needs of these parents.
